MEET THE AUTHOR

Tabitha Orth lives in Beaverton, Oregon, with her husband Jim, son Matthew and Hialeah, Matthew's assistance dog. Justin Dart, best known as the Father of Americans with Disabilities Act, honored her with the Justin Dart Award for advocacy, which resulted in the creation of an intensive early intervention program for young students with autism. She also received the Community Partnerships Award in recognition for her collaborative achievements in advocacy, which led to an increased public awareness and better quality of life for people with developmental disabilities and their families.
