Bastet today was known as both "Bast" and "Bastet" in ancient Egypt is the Egyptian goddess of the home, domesticity, women's secrets, cats, fertility, and childbirth. Bast was originally a lioness goddess, but as time went on, she was more closely associated with the housecat. She protected the home from evil spirits and disease, especially diseases associated with women and children. She is believed to be the personification of the soul of Isis.

This hand-painted Bastet is featured and crafted on a Papyrus, the world's first paper! It is a material similar to thick paper that was used in ancient times as a writing surface. It was made from the pith of the papyrus plant, Cyperus papyrus, a wetland sedge. It is where we get the modern word paper. Created by the Ancient Egyptians, papyrus has been used as a paper for over 4500 years!

This papyrus art is 100% crafted from high-quality materials in Egypt and is safe, and non-toxic. Each Papyri is handmade and hand-painted. A perfect Egyptian Artwork to display and showcase on your personal space.
